The Association
The Parlamuse Association aims to create, direct and produce musical performances as well as writing, composing and musical arrangements. It is the legal, logistical and financial support of its Artistic Director: Pierre-
Arnaud Larnier.
The Artistic Director
Pierre Arnaud Larnier began the violin at the age of 8 at the conservatory of Asnières with Simone Müller and obtained first prize in 1975. At 9, he joined, under the direction of Francis Bardot, the Maîtrise des Hauts de Seine and the Paris Opera as soprano, soprano soloist, then tenor.
A few years later, he joined the Orchester de Jeunes de Paris as a violist and worked with Jean-Claude Casadesus, Daniel Baremboim and Mistlav Rostropovitch. Conducting choirs and orchestras quickly became his passion, thanks to Philippe Caillard, whose valuable teaching he followed by integrating his Vocal Ensemble, and Dominique Rouits in orchestra conducting class at the École Normale de Musique in Paris.
Pierre-Arnaud also worked writing and composing songs at the Variétés studio with Ignatus and Thierry Chazelle and released an album of French songs in 2002.
He set up several vocal ensembles, including the "Passifore" choir which he created and directed for 10 years at the Gustave Roussy Institute in Villejuif. In 2008, following a stage performance of the Passion according to St John by J.S.Bach in Lausanne, PAL decided to launch into the musical show with that year, the staging of Fauré's Requiem: 40 choristers, 40 actors and 15 musicians invade the abbey of Ferrières in Gâtinais for two sold-out performances.
Trained at the C.I.M. as a musico-psycho-therapist, he works more particularly on the state of post-traumatic stress due to the annunciation of serious illnesses. A graduate of the EAC (School of Arts and Culture), he obtained an MBA in cultural project management in 2015 and decided to put on his new musical show based on the life of Gabriel Fauré, directed and produced by the association Have fun.
Arrived in Nantes in 2017, he directs the choir "la Bougane" from Bouguenais (44) with which he will participate in La Folle Journée de Nantes in 2018 accompanying the world creation of Paul Smith and the Voces8: "A new world". He has also led other vocal ensembles in the Nantes region.
In 2019, he followed the course of choir direction at the CRR of Nantes in the class of Valérie Fayet.
In 2022, he created and produced the Grand Concert Participatif, a new concept of musical show that brings together choristers from all walks of life with professional musicians.
A new Grand Concert is scheduled for December 2023.
